In those years, girls were all just addicted with those books and with the first movie (it have a very expensive casting... Brat Pitt was the main character, an emo vampire XD, Lestat was his "father" in the vampiric world (a vapire with a lot of ego XD), although they act more as "couple" - yeah, vampires in there were kinda ambiguous and they act as couple sometimes, as friend another, as rival for another character affection in others, and as enemies in others... anyway vampires cant do sex in those stories, they were just like "angels whitout gender" although they actually have one), Kirsten dusnk (spiderman girlfriends, but in that movie was about 10 or smaller), Antonio Banderas (playing as a character that in the books looked as 13 years old... he didnt fit but they dotn say it so thats ok XD)...
That movie had a lot of fangirls because of those "handsome actors" and also because sometimes they had some scenes close to yahoi.
I readed the books and I must say that they were quite addictive, her writter, anne rice is quite skillful and once you start you cannot stop (in that age I dont used to read a lot, and those books were pretty big - arround 500 pages every one, and they were a lot, but I started reading them and in a year I readed a lot XD).
The first movie, if you are interested, is called "interview with the vampire" and is the story of Louis, a vampire that talks to a writter about his life, since he became vampire until the actual days. Lois became a vampire in part because he felt guitly about the dead of peoploe that was closed to him.
Lois is and always was a gentle soul and he deny to drink blood of humans, he instead used to drink rats and animals blood. Lestat, that was the one who made him vampire - by giving him his blood - is portrated as a savage vampire that kills humans for fun, and he is always teasing louis to feed in humans. All the movie is kinda the relationship they have, and in some point, Louis start to travel arround the world and see other vampires - he though at first that his soul is doomed by the devil, but laters he learns that actually being vampire wasnt related neither with god or evil and noone has seen a trace of both in the world... there vampires are inmune to garlik and +.
The second "the queen of damned"movie is about Lestat, in the actual word. he awakes (he was sleeping since 100 years ago or so) and he choose to be a rock singer XD. With his songs, he tease other vampires by revealing their existence and secrets, so basically he is telling to the vampires "come for me if you dare!". Lestat music, though awake the "Queen of damned", that is, the first vampire, called Akasha, if I am not mistaken, that was sleeping since ancient times - she was a queen in the old Egipt, before the piramids and pharaons. Akasha kills all vampires but the olders (she have not control of thems) and kinda falls in love with Lestat, she wants him as her King, in order to rule in the world XD...
the second movie covers the second and third books. "lestat the vampire" and "the queen of the doomed". In Lestat the vampire, they explain the life of lestat - pretty egocentrical, always telling he is the best of all, but you notice that Louis portrait him as absolute evil, when Lestat always say that he only feed with "bad people" XD
I liked the books. the movies were interesting but once you read the books, movie looks quite... empty. But I must not lie, both movies are pretty bad ones XD - me like bad movies though. anyway, second movie have cool OST.
